Katty Perry, the judge on American Idol, has made a huge professional announcement following rumours that she was 'going to quit' the show due to public outrage.

Katy Perry, one of the most popular judges on American Idol, has finally addressed the rumors that she is leaving the show after four seasons. The singer and songwriter took to Instagram on Thursday to share some exciting news with her fans: she is launching her own record label, called Unsub Records.

“I’m so thrilled to announce that I have started my own record label, Unsub Records, and I can’t wait to share with you all the amazing artists that I have signed,” Perry wrote in a caption alongside a photo of herself holding a microphone. “This has been a dream of mine for a long time, and I’m so grateful for this opportunity to support and empower other musicians who share my vision and passion for music.”

Perry also addressed the speculation that she is planning to quit American Idol, the reality singing competition that she has been judging since 2018, along with Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. The rumors started after some fans expressed their dissatisfaction with Perry’s critiques and comments on the show, accusing her of being too harsh, biased, or inappropriate.

“Let me clear up something: I’m not leaving American Idol anytime soon,” Perry said. “I love this show and I love working with Lionel and Luke and all the talented contestants. I’m just expanding my horizons and exploring new challenges. American Idol is still a big part of my life and career, and I’m not going anywhere.”

Perry added that she hopes her fans will support her new venture and tune in to watch American Idol every week. She also thanked her followers for their love and loyalty over the years.

“You guys are the best and I appreciate you so much,” she said. “Thank you for always being there for me and for supporting my dreams. I hope you’re as excited as I am for this new chapter in my life. Stay tuned for more updates on Unsub Records and American Idol. Love you all!”
