Movie "Adipurush": A 5 billion INR disaster

Adipurush Movie Review: Cheap dialogues, mediocre script, and shoddy VFX - A pricey mess...

Adipurush Movie Review: A hurried attempt to construct a picture that required a great deal of attention to detail and perfection.

I was not only disappointed but also saddened as I sat in the theatre to witness how the director and authors wasted the talent of actors like Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan. In the movie, Kriti Sanon, who plays Janki (Sita), is left with no choice but to wait for her husband Raghav (Ram, portrayed by Prabhas). Saif Ali Khan, unquestionably one of the best performers in Hindi cinema, did credit to the role that was given to him, but the film's producers had the opportunity to better and give Ravana more screen time. Prabhas' portrayal seemed odd in some way; perhaps it was the Bahubali image that interrupted each of his performances.

Adipurush should no longer be marketed as a family movie since the dialogue is so substandard. Dialogues like – ‘Andar kaise ghusa… Bua ka bageecha hai,’ ‘Aur koi kaam dhanda ni bacha…bandar pakadne laga,’ ‘Jali na… Abhi aur jalega,’ ‘Jo hamari behno ko haath lagaenge…unki Lanka laga denge…’  On and on I could go. What kind of kid-friendly way is this?

What comes next? The main selling point of Adipurush is its poor and low-quality visual effects. Each time one of Ravana's 10 faces emerged, the producers transformed legend into humour. It appeared absurd and to be an amateur attempt at VFX.

The movie attempted to blend Planet of the Apes and Ghost Rider, but it failed miserably.
