Twitter will get its new CEO soon, Elon Musk revels.

Twitter, the popular social media platform with over 300 million active users, has undergone a significant leadership change in the past few months. In October 2022, Elon Musk, the world's richest man and founder of Tesla and SpaceX, acquired Twitter for $44 billion and became its new CEO. He quickly fired the previous CEO Parag Agrawal and other senior executives and laid off half of the staff. He also reinstated some controversial accounts that were previously banned, such as former US president Donald Trump and self-proclaimed "alpha male" Andrew Tate.

Musk's tenure as Twitter's CEO has been marked by chaos and controversy, as he pursued an aggressive and unconventional agenda to reshape the platform. He claimed to be a "free speech absolutist" and wanted to prevent Twitter from becoming an echo chamber for hate and division. However, his actions have alienated many advertisers, users and regulators, who have raised concerns about the quality and safety of the content on Twitter. Musk also faced criticism for spending too much time on Twitter and neglecting his other businesses, such as Tesla and SpaceX.

In May 2023, Musk announced that he had found a new CEO for Twitter and that she would be starting in about six weeks. He said he would transition to being the executive chair and chief technology officer of Twitter, overseeing product, software and system operations. He did not reveal the identity of the new CEO, but later reports suggested that it was Linda Yaccarino, the head of advertising at NBCUniversal. Yaccarino is a media industry veteran who has been instrumental in launching NBC's streaming service Peacock and advocating for better ways to measure the effectiveness of advertising.

The appointment of Yaccarino as Twitter's new CEO is seen as a positive sign for the future of the platform, as she brings experience and credibility to the role. She is expected to restore stability and trust to Twitter and improve its revenue and user growth. She will also have to deal with the challenges of moderating content, complying with regulations and competing with other social media platforms. It remains to be seen how she will work with Musk, who will still significantly influence Twitter's direction and vision.
