Soon, Windows 11 users will be able to utilise a Facebook widget that will be more convenient for connecting with loved ones on social media.

Windows 11 is getting a new feature that will make it easier for users to stay connected with their Facebook friends and notifications. The feature is a Facebook widget, which will be available for Windows 11 Insiders on the Canary, Dev, and Beta channels after installing or updating the Facebook app from the Microsoft Store.

The Facebook widget will allow users to see their recent notifications from the social media platform right from the widget board, without opening the app or a browser. Users can also customize the widget to show or hide certain types of notifications, such as friend requests, messages, comments, likes, and more.

The Facebook widget is one of the first third-party widgets to join Windows 11, following Meta and Spotify. Microsoft has been working on improving the widget experience in Windows 11, adding more animations, expanding the widget panel size, and revamping the volume mixer in Quick Settings.

Microsoft also encourages developers to create and release widgets for their apps, as they provide a convenient way for users to access relevant information and actions at a glance. Widgets can also help developers increase user engagement and retention for their apps.
