Cameron Diaz likely won't return to Hollywood after Jamie Foxx meltdown on the set of her comeback film

Cameron Diaz, a popular and successful actress, has reportedly decided to retire from acting after her latest project with Jamie Foxx. Diaz, who has been absent from the big screen since 2014, came back for Netflix's action-comedy Back in Action, directed by Seth Gordon. However, she was unhappy with the long hours and drama on the set, which included a major meltdown by Foxx that resulted in several firings.

Diaz announced her retirement from acting in 2018 to focus on her personal life and her wellness brand. She married musician Benji Madden in 2015 and became a mother to their daughter Raddix in 2019 via surrogate. Diaz loves being a mother and finds it fulfilling.

Foxx, her co-star and friend, convinced Diaz to join him for Back in Action. The movie follows two former action stars who team up again for a comeback movie that goes horribly wrong. However, things did not go smoothly on set. Foxx had an "absolute meltdown" over some production issues and fired several crew members. He also allegedly clashed with Gordon over creative differences and demanded more control over the script and editing.

Diaz was reportedly unaffected by Foxx's outburst and remained on good terms with him. However, she was unhappy with being away from her family for so long and disliked the drama and confrontation that came with working in Hollywood again.

According to a source close to Diaz, she loves being a mom more than anything and is doing the film only because of Foxx. Diaz plans to retire from acting once again after wrapping up filming. Back in Action is expected to be released on Netflix sometime next year.
