Will Smith and Jessica Chastain Win Top Acting Honors at 29th SAG Awards #SAGAwards2023

The 29th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, presented by the SAG-AFTRA union, celebrated the best performances in film and television in 2022. The ceremony took place on Saturday night and was broadcast on TNT and TBS. The awards show, which is often seen as a predictor of the Academy Awards, had some surprises in store for viewers.

In the film categories, Will Smith won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his portrayal of Richard Williams in "King Richard." Meanwhile, Jessica Chastain won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for her role in "The Eyes of Tammy Faye." In the television categories, "Succession" won the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, while "Hacks" won the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

Other winners included Andrew Garfield for his role in "Tick, Tick... Boom!", Kathryn Hahn for her role in "WandaVision," and Michael Keaton for his role in "Dopesick." In addition to the acting categories, awards were also given for stunt ensembles in film and television.

The ceremony also included speeches from several winners, who spoke about the importance of their roles and the impact they hope their performances will have. The SAG Awards are often seen as a celebration of the acting profession itself, and this year's ceremony was no exception.
